Local Pilgrimages near Boston

Today’s topics: Local Pilgrimages near Boston

Summary of today’s show: There are dozens of great shrines within a day’s drive, or a weekend’s travel at most, that families in the Boston area can visit. Making a pilgrimage is something every Catholic should do occasionally and you don’t have to travel to Europe or the Holy Land to do so. Kevin Nelson of CatholicTV’s Catholic Destinations joins Scot Landry, Fr. Chip Hines, and Domenico Bettinelli to discuss their favorite pilgrimages in New England, upstate New York, and Québec.

Hi. I loved this episode. Caught some of it on my evening commute. Really enjoyed that three places, in particular were mentioned. La Salette in Attleboro is a place that every Catholic should visit during Christmastime. It is beautifully lit and very spiritual.

The Divine Mercy Shrine in Stockbridge is incredibly beautiful. My grandparents have long held strong devotions to Mary. When my grandfather passed away our family worked with the Marians at Stockbridge for a stained glass window to be included in the Divine Mercy Shrine in remembrance of my grandfather.

Finally, the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine caught my ear. In particular my grandparents focused their Marian devotions on Our Lady of Fatima. I’ve never been to this shrine but it has been on my list.

I should note that your link does not work for the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. The correct URL is http://xaviermissionaries.org/node/19

Looks like Xavier was accidentally misspelled in the link used in your show notes (your link has xavermissionaries instead of xavier).

Thank you for such a wonderful episode.
